STAPLETON MOVIE STUDIOS TRANSFORMS THE STATEN ISLAND HOME PORT INTO THE LARGEST MOVIE STUDIO AND ENTERTAINMENT COMPLEX IN THE NORTHEAST

(New York, NY – Tuesday, September 10, 2002) – Stapleton Studios, LLC announced today that it has transformed the former U.S. Navy Ship yard on Staten Island into a world class movie studio and waterfront entertainment complex to be known as STAPLETON STUDIOS.

STAPLETON STUDIOS consists of 13 state-of-the-art film stages and support facilities. The first of these stages is already complete and operating. Within the sound proof doors of the stage are multiple greenrooms, make-up and wardrobe rooms, and production company suites including wireless, integrated phone and fiber optic communication systems. Paramount Pictures is developing a working relationship with STAPLETON STUDIOS and has leased a portion of the complex. The next film stage to be finished measures 74,800 square feet making it the second largest in the world. Plans also include the creation of a waterfront promenade, a modern yacht marina, a 200 suite hotel with retail shopping, a four star restaurant and state-of-the-art office space. 24 hour high-speed water taxies and helicopters will provide convenient transport between STAPLETON STUDIOS and the Eastside and Westside of Manhattan.

With the rise of off-shore production facilities, the U.S. film and TV industry has been pressed to creatively lower costs while increasing client services. STAPLETON STUDIOS is within the North Shore Economic Development Zone making it eligible for long-term job creation tax credits, reduced electric rates, and other government subsidies giving STAPLETON STUDIOS a tremendous competitive edge worldwide.

Academy Award-nominated actor Danny Aiello is a co-founder and partner in the studio: "It's an incredible facility and we are thrilled to be bringing the glory days of filmmaking back to New York City."
